Keysight/Agilent 34971A Data Acquisition Pro
The 34971A Data Acquisition Pro comes with an integrated combination for precision measurement and logging. It combines the 34970A Data Acquisition Unit, the 34901A Multiplexer, and the BenchLink Data Logger Pro software. It provides a compact measurement platform for automated data logging, switching, and signal monitoring applications. The system supports production and validation environments requiring accurate multi-channel measurement performance. The 34970A data acquisition unit uses a three-slot mainframe with built-in GPIB and RS232 interfaces. The mainframe is further set to scan up to 250 channels per second when configured with suitable plug-in modules. Its integrated 6 1/2-digit and 22-bit digital multimeter provides high-resolution readings across several measurement functions.
The included 34901A BenchLink Logger software comes with multiple 20-channel multiplexer designs and also permits both 2-wire and 4-wire measurement configurations. Users can mix 2-wire and 4-wire channels on the same module for flexible test setups. The BenchLink software module provides 300 V switching capability and supports scanning rates up to 60 channels per second. It includes a built-in thermocouple reference junction for accurate temperature measurement support. It enables measurement of thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, AC volts, DC volts, resistance, frequency, and period.
The 34970A Data Acquisition Pro also supports AC and DC current measurements through protected fused inputs. Two additional fused inputs provide 22 total channels and route up to a 1 A current. These inputs connect current signals directly to the internal DMM without external shunt resistors. The mainframe accepts 8 switch and control plug-in module types for different applications. Its modular architecture allows the 34971A Data Acquisition Pro to support switching, scanning, and control tasks. The instrument includes 4 TTL alarm outputs for external control and automated response functions. These outputs allow the system to signal limit conditions to connected devices or control equipment. Channel-specific alarms improve process monitoring when measurements must remain within defined operating thresholds.
The BenchLink Data Logger Pro software supports configuration, data logging, and acquisition management from a connected computer. A BenchVue software license, BV0006B, is now included with the instrument package. It helps connect, control, and automate device workflows through an integrated software environment.
