The Keysight 34981A is a multifunction switch and measure unit designed for industrial data acquisition applications. It delivers fast startup and a straightforward setup process suited for electronic functional test systems. The model reduces test system integration time while supporting scalable and modular test environment deployments. It is engineered to deliver accurate and reliable signal switching across diverse measurement applications. The model handles system switching at frequencies up to 26.5 GHz across multiple configurations. It supports DMM measurements along with counter and totalizer functionality within one single integrated unit. The digital I/O with pattern capabilities and analog outputs with basic waveforms are also included in this model. The model brings multiple distinct test functions into one compact and cost-effective measurement platform.
The 34981A Data Acquisition Pro accommodates up to eight plug-in modules selected from a choice of 21 available types. The signal switching supports voltages up to 300 V without requiring any external signal conditioning equipment. The high-density multiplexers in the model enable efficient scanning across multiple measurement channels simultaneously. The matrix modules allow connecting multiple signal points at one time for complex signal routing tasks. The general-purpose switches are suited for both simple control requirements and demanding high-power switching applications. The users can monitor single or multiple channels while configuring alarms to detect and flag irregularities.
The Keysight Data Acquisition Pro supports direct control of external devices, including microwave switches, attenuators, solenoids, and power relays. The digital inputs allow the unit to sense limit switch status and monitor real-time digital bus conditions. The analog outputs generate basic waveforms for system stimulus and control without requiring additional external hardware. The remote access is enabled in the data acquisition pro through a built-in web browser interface compatible with Java applet-enabled browsers. The users can view and modify instrument setup, open or close switches, and send SCPI commands remotely. The interface supports defining switch scans, executing switch sequences, and reviewing the instrument error queue. The status reports on relay counts and firmware revisions remain accessible through the remote Web interface.
