Keysight 44474A 16-Bit Digital Input/Output Module
The Keysight/Agilent 44474A Digital Input/Output Module is a TTL-compatible digital interface module that aids in controlling input and output operation. It provides 16 bidirectional data lines, with 4 additional lines for control and handshaking. The 44474A I/O module is designed for units that require digital control inside automated test and measurement setups. It supports external device control through TTL input levels and open collector output operation. The module handles logic-level switching with defined voltage and current limits.
The 44474A includes 16 I/O lines that can be addressed in different operating formats. Each line can be controlled individually for bit-by-bit operation in precise digital applications. The module can also address the lines as 2 independent 8-bit words. It can also operate all 16 lines together as 1 complete 16-bit word. One 8-bit port can be configured for output operation during control tasks. The second port is utilized for input monitoring from connected devices. The high-input state is recognized above 2.0 V on the data lines. A low input state is recognized below 0.8 V on the data lines. These levels support standard TTL signal environments used in test systems.
The digital I/O module has 16 bits of resolution and supports a maximum line-to-chassis voltage of +30 V DC on data lines. This rating allows the module to interface with external circuits within defined safety limits. The low output current rating reaches 125 mA when output voltage (Vout) remains below 1.25 V. The output section uses open collector outputs for external device interfacing and control. The high output voltage is greater than 2.4 V at a current below 8 mA. The low output voltage is below 0.4 V at a current below 16 mA. Each I/O line can sink up to 125 mA from connected external devices. The handshake line maximum voltage rating is +5 V DC from line to chassis. The Keysight 44474A includes 4 handshake lines for control timing with connected equipment. It includes a screw terminal for wiring access. The terminal connection supports direct attachment of external signals and controlled device lines.
