Keysight/Agilent U2352A USB Modular Data Acquisition
The Keysight U2352A USB data acquisition module has sixteen 16-bit analog input modules. These are available as 16 individual single-ended or eight differential inputs. They can be sampled at an aggregate rate of 250 k samples per second. Burst mode on each single channel is up to 3 samples/sec. Input voltage programmability includes ±10V, ±5V, ±2.5V, and ±1.25V bipolar and their corresponding unipolar voltages. All have 1GΩ input impedance. Continuous over-voltage protection is provided by ±30V when it's turned on and powered and ±15V when it is powered off.
The U2352A uses high-speed (Hi-S) USB 2.0 in standalone mode. In addition to being compliant with USBTMC-USB488, the module may be used as part of a U2781A chassis with 16 additional cards to expand the total number of channels to 384. As such, the module is usable in both stand-alone tabletop and system-level applications.
In addition to the analog front-end (AFE), the U2352A also provides 24 TTL-compatible digital I/O lines. Additionally, there are two counter-channels for controlling the timing and/or for counting pulses in closed-loop test systems. Together these digital I/O lines enable precise control in automated test systems. There are three types of trigger capabilities on the U2352A, including analog/digital inputs from external sources; SSI/star type for multiple modules to operate synchronously together; and pre-triggers/post-triggers/delay triggers/middle type for capturing signals around an event of interest. Burst mode is similar to simultaneously sampling multiple analog input channels. Data will continue to flow from the AFEs through an 8MSample FIFO buffer so no gaps occur during data transfer.
The FIFO buffer is programmable based on the source (channel) of the data. The module has a maximum of 100 scan list memory locations, which can be programmed using software. When scanning through multiple channels in a sequence, scan lists reduce the number of required program statements. Additionally, self-calibration occurs automatically within the U2352A with respect to time and temperature; therefore, external calibration tools are unnecessary.
The U2352A has software drivers for several popular programming environments, including Keysight VEE; MATLAB; LabVIEW; and Visual Studio. It also comes with a BenchVue BV0025B license, allowing users to quickly set up the data acquisition hardware, perform data logging, and create simple automated test sequences without requiring programming knowledge.
The U2352A is particularly well-suited for design validation testing, manufacturing testing, and/or process monitoring where physical measurement data is required. Optional terminal block adapters (U2901A/U2902A) allow users to easily connect cables to the module when performing field wiring connections.
