Keysight/Agilent U2651A USB Modular Digital I/O
Keysight U2651A represents a 64-channel digital input/output (I/O) device utilizing USB as the interface. As a result, there are no internal card slot requirements nor an external power supply required for use. Additionally, each digital line on this device offers enhanced transient protection rated at 1250 volts peak to protect against voltage spikes that can potentially damage the control system.
The U2651A consists of the primary module, and optionally, the user may also acquire the U2903A or U2904A terminal blocks to facilitate simpler cable connections; this product will operate under all versions of the BenchVue, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Visual Studio, and VEE software platforms and incorporates the unique features of interrupt functions and virtual port grouping, allowing users to manage their I/O in many different ways.
Engineers who work in manufacturing automation utilize the U2651A to energize relays, actuators, and valves and sense limit switch conditions in manufacturing environments. The U2651A has an input voltage range of 10 to 24 volts, which will directly read industrial sensor outputs. However, the output stage will accept an external supply ranging from 5 to 35 volts to energize virtually any load type. The onboard isolated +5V power source allows users to quickly test their functionality without having access to other sources. The interrupt feature will activate when the digital state of the I/O changes and therefore reduces the amount of polling time your PC spends reading the I/O. In addition, users can combine any eight bits into one virtual port by using the virtual port grouping feature to perform simultaneous read/writes to either group together similar devices or create emergency stop ports without having to physically change the configuration of your hardware.
The U2651A excels in applications where you have a need for a large number of channels of digital I/O along with electrical isolation, such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation lab equipment, and remote monitoring units. Using optical isolation between the USB circuitry and the I/O circuitry improves the quality of the signals and protects your computer from potential faults. The U2651A provides both SCPI and IVI-COM command support, providing users the ability to seamlessly integrate it into existing testing frameworks.
