Measurement Computing PCI-DAS1200 Multifunction DAQ Board
The PCI-DAS1200 multifunction card works as a data acquisition solution for analog as well as for digital inputs and outputs. It provides integrated counter functionality on a single PCI platform. The board supports deterministic control for industrial environments. The board incorporates a 12 bit A/D converter built on the 7800 design. It supports 8 differential or 16 single ended channels selectable through software for analog functioning. The channel selection and setup are completed entirely in software without physical changes. The system achieves 330 kHz throughput with a 3 µs conversion interval.
The PCI-DAS1200 multifunction board operates with bipolar ranges of ±10 V, ±5 V, ±2.5 V and ±1.25 V and also provides unipolar ranges. The maximum allowable input voltage is specified at ±35 V to ensure protected operation. The common mode input span is ±10 V with 70 dB CMRR at 60 Hz. Input impedance is rated at 10 MOhm minimum to limit loading effects. Input leakage current does not exceed 200 nA to maintain signal stability. The maximum gain is given as ±0.02% for the measured value. The converter ensures no missing codes across the complete resolution scale. The PCI-DAS1200 I/O board provides programmable A/D pacing using an internal timing counter or external source as a clock.
The board covers the use of external digital triggering using a specific trigger interface. Hardware triggering is implemented on a software configured rising edge event. The total number of samples needs to be above 512 in pre-triggering. The 1024 sample FIFO data transfer can be done by REPINSW interrupt or software polling. FIFO architecture gives deterministic buffering when carrying out high speed acquisition activities. The PCI-DAS1200 has the ability to maintain the same throughput rate during sustained acquisition at rated speeds. The DAQ card offers 24 bits of digital input/output that operates parallel. These lines are set in two 8 bit ports and two 4 bit ports. Every port operates individually. It has integrated a programmable device 82C54 with 3 different 16 bits timer. The other timer is an internal work counter that helps to function with timing on the board.
