NH Research NHR-9510 Power Grid Simulator
The NHR-9510 grid simulator is a four quadrant AC and DC load power system. It delivers voltage and current control for advanced power validation testing. The cabinet weighs 545kg and supports high density laboratory integration. It operates from 5°C to 35°C with 95% relative humidity non-condensing. The unit provides 100kW or 210kVA maximum output in 1 or 3-phase modes. It contains three independent sets per channel for flexible output configuration. Available configurations include 3 x single phase AC or DC outputs. The voltage range spans 10V to 175VRMS line to neutral. An extended range of 10V to 350VRMS line to neutral is supported. The grid simulator has a split phase operation that supports 10V to 125V and 20V to 250V maximum. Voltage control accuracy is maintained within ±0.15% of full scale peak measurement.
The NHR-9510 allows RMS current ranges of 50A and 200A per phase. Load regulation performance is specified at ±0.02% of full scale. Its slew rate performance reaches 1V per microsecond during controlled turn on events. The frequency process ranges from 30Hz to 120Hz with 10mHz resolution. Total harmonic distortion is 0.45% typical below 70Hz under resistive load. Maximum distortion remains 0.65% below 70Hz across no load to full load. The simulator provides programmable resolution of 0.01V for precise voltage setting. Phase angle control spans 0 to 359 degrees with 0.1-degree resolution. Arbitrary waveform generation enables user defined outlines for dynamic processing.
The supported waveforms of the simulator include sine n step, sine triangle and clipped sine. An over voltage protection safeguards connected equipment during abnormal conditions. Over current protection ensures reliable operation during high demand scenarios. The power grid simulator uses a watchdog timer continuously monitors control communications integrity. Emergency stop and external inter lock functions provide immediate shutdown capability. The NHR-9510 power grid simulator supports fully programmable trip limits through Ethernet communication. Two half inch stud terminals per channel provide high power connections. A dedicated ground terminal ensures safe protective earthing. The power grid simulator by NI uses integrated touch panel that offers direct manual control at the cabinet front. The interface enables basic functional tests within minutes of power up. A remote soft panel application operates from a user PC or laptop. The software provides waveform capture editors and macro based test sequencing control.
