The CMU200 universal radio communication tester targets demanding radio production environments. It integrates extensive RF generation and analysis within a compact four rack unit chassis. It supports maximum production throughput while maintaining controlled internal power dissipation for reliability. The compact mechanical construction of CMU200 radio tester simplifies mounting in automated racks and conserves valuable vertical space securely. Low internal power dissipation minimizes thermal stress on components and reduces auxiliary cooling infrastructure requirements. The RF1 path of CMU200 radio tester delivers levels from 0 dBm to +53 dBm. The RF2 path covers levels from -14 dBm to +39 dBm. The RF4 input accepts signals from -37 dBm to 0 dBm. Level setting resolution across the unit is 0.1 dB supporting accurate incremental amplitude control.
The FM measurement capability offers dynamic range 30 dB below the maximum supported level. Effective RF bandwidth for FM analysis equals twice deviation +4 times modulation frequency to 136 kHz. Frequency deviation measurement on the unit spans from 0 Hz to 47000 Hz with fine 1 Hz resolution. The supported modulation frequency range extends from 100 Hz to 18000 Hz enabling characterization of representative communication test waveforms. The CMU200 operates within a 300 Hz to 3000 Hz measurement bandwidth residual FM which remains below 5 Hz root mean square. The universal radio communication tester supports 3GPP FDD with nominal 3.84 MHz symbol rate. A dedicated synchronization output uses a BNC connector labeled REF OUT 2 on the instrument rear panel. This synchronization output provides reference frequencies 30.72 MHz divided by integer values from 1 to 32.
The external equipment can synchronize to this CMU200 radio unit reference distribution to maintain coherent timing across automated multiunit test systems. Additional RF outputs expand flexible stimulus routing for complex multistage production test setups. The RF2 output provides adjustable levels between -90 dBm and -24 dBm for sensitive receiver testing. The RF3 output supports levels from -70 dBm to -1 dBm for higher drive signal requirements. The output level resolution in over-range mode is 1 dB supporting predictable stepped level sequences. The RF1 input of the CMU200 radio tester tolerates continuous input power up to 2 W under specified conditions.
