The Spirent 81-01503-10 Abacus ACG VME Module is a dedicated telecoms test solution for voice and data performance testing of network equipment. It has an Intel i386 EX embedded microprocessor running at 25MHz so it has consistent processing power for demanding telecoms testing. It also has an Analog Devices ADSP-2173 Digital Signal Processor (DSP) microcomputer to handle digital signal processing and enhance data transmission simulation capabilities.
With 64KB of SRAM memory the 81-01503-10 module can store test data and has key information stored for quick access during testing. This SRAM enables data buffering so there is no lag during high demand scenarios. The module is optimised for complex telecoms environments where it can do load testing, signal processing and voice channel emulation so it’s ideal for system validation in large scale network infrastructure.
The Spirent Abacus ACG VME Module is used in network simulation systems to test performance under varying loads and stress levels to test network reliability and resilience. Its DSP resources make it a great tool for data transmission and voice channel execution and analysis and can simulate various interface standards. It’s used to test both legacy and emerging telecom protocols and is used to validate network hardware such as modems, network access servers and switching equipment.
