Spirent ACG (Analog Circuit Generator) Card
The Spirent Analog Circuit Generator (ACG) Card is designed for call generation and has 10 circuits per card, each simulating a standard analog telephone line for testing analog telephony systems without switching. This powerful card can make and complete calls and provide a real analog telephone environment, including going off-hook, detecting dial tone and dialing numbers. Both loop start and ground start are supported by each circuit, and the AC impedance may be adjusted to 600 or 900 ohms. The card enables ring-to-ground time setting for ground start, allowing you to test under any circumstance.
The ACG Card has 11 front facing LEDs, which provide real-time diagnostic and operational information. One LED indicates whether the card is idle, active, or in communication with the System Controller, while the other ten LEDs display the status of each circuit. To make monitoring and troubleshooting easier, each LED may flash in different patterns or be red, orange, or green to indicate different operating conditions.
The ACG Card has a 32-bit processor, digital signal processors (DSPs) and flash memory, so it has plenty of computing power and firmware upgradability for long term support and high-performance testing. It can do programmable call progress tones, DTMF and MF R1 signaling and pulse dialing. The card can do flexible call sequences, can originate and terminate up to 5,600 calls per hour per subsystem and can do random or fixed test durations from 1 second to 5 years, so you can test extensively and customize.
In order to confirm call path formation and retention during the call, the ACG Card also performs end-to-end call testing. As the card tests the speech path, it collects the results and presents them in tables and histograms. As part of Spirent’s Abacus platform, the ACG Card is a key component in testing telephony infrastructure for labs, manufacturers and service providers who need analog call testing. Its programmable settings, high call capacity and performance metrics make it the perfect tool for end-to-end testing, emulation and validation of analog telecommunications systems.
