Spirent DLS-5404 ADSL2+ Noise Injector
The Spirent DLS-5404 is a compact, 1U rack-mountable ADSL2+ noise injector that easily integrates with a noise generator and wireline simulator. This injects independent noise signals at either end of a wireline simulator into the evaluation of ADSL2+ equipment performance under various conditions like line noise and interference. Engineered for industrial-grade test environments, the DLS-5404 meets advanced DSL applications requiring high levels of accuracy in the simulation of real-world noise on data-carrying transmission lines.
Operating in a frequency bandwidth of up to 40 MHz, the DLS-5404 provides noise injection over a differential output for detailed testing of an ADSL2+ device. This model offers impressive frequency response, staying within ±0.5 dB across the 10 kHz to 30 MHz range, and has low insertion loss below 0.1 dB from 4 kHz to 40 MHz. The DLS-5404 has two RJ-45 connectors on each side to make direct interfacing to the DUT and the wireline simulator for the best connectivity and signal routing in the most demanding test scenarios. There are four 50Ω unbalanced BNC connectors-one pair on each side-serving as noise input and providing flexible options for noise sources. This is a differential-mode-operated device that provides a repeatable maximum output of -3 dBm per output when configured for a crest factor of 5.0 to best adapt it for noise-sensitive measurements.
The DLS-5P02 power supply is included with the DLS-5404; it accepts both 115V and 230V AC inputs, ensuring usability almost anywhere in the world. The power supply has internal fuses rated for T1.5A/250V on 115V and T0.75A/250V on 230V. This power supply is applied in powering the noise injector across various voltage standards and frequencies, hence giving the required stability throughout intensive test procedures.
The DLS-5404 noise floor is optimized to minimize interference: Less than -140 dBm/Hz noise floor from 4 kHz to 100 kHz and less than -150 dBm/Hz from 100 kHz to 40 MHz ensures the EMI one will test in only a little, if any unwanted noise interference. A maximum wireline voltage of 200V DC plus peak AC further extends this device in use on different testing settings.This is important to an enterprise that requires continuous security evaluations and compliance validation.
