Spirent DLS-5P02 Power Supply
The Spirent DLS-5P02 Power Supply is specially designed to power the DLS-5410DC noise injector. It comes as an accessory, packaged along with the DLS-5410DC, together with an external AC power cord, together with spare fuses, making it so essential for the work of Spirent noise injection systems. The DLS-5P02 connects with the DLS-5410DC via a round DIN connector on the injector rear panel, which allows easy setup for reliable operation. It also includes a user-selectable voltage setting (115/230V) to meet the diversity in regional power requirements and has various fuse protection systems that facilitate stable and safe power distribution through diverse testing conditions.
This power supply unit supports the DLS-5410DC injector, important in applying noise impairments to test cables in both differential and common modes. The DLS-5P02 provides for constant output power and makes certain that the noise injector is able to make impairment in a very precise way: REIN (Repetitive Electrical Impulse Noise), PEIN (Periodic Impulse Noise), and SHINE (Single High-level Impulse Noise Event). All these features put together will go a long way in assisting tests on xDSL modems and DSL Access Multiplexers as regards their response to real-world line disturbances and noise conditions. With the DLS-5P02 providing a stable power feed, the integrity of the system is ensured to further assist the DLS-5410DC in generating very accurate and repeatable noise profiles for realistic network conditions simulation.
The DLS-5P02 has an easily controlled front-panel power switch, while the connection is protected by grounding protocols in place to maintain stability along with meeting safety standards. Spirent emphasizes that the DLS-5P02 is used integrally with the DLS-5410DC to optimize Spirent noise injection configurations without compatibility problems. Using the power provided by the DLS-5P02, the DLS-5410DC can easily integrate with the DLS-5800 Arbitrary Waveform Generator, which uses the injector to inject noise into either real or simulated xDSL lines. Put together, both systems yield a more flexible and precise noise simulation for tests on telecom equipment and their compliance to industry standards, as called for by ANSI, ETSI, and ITU-T.
