Keysight/Agilent E1328A 4-Channel D/A Converter
The Keysight/Agilent E1328A is a 4-channel digital to analog converter designed for precision signal generation in industrial automation. It is a VXIbus B size register based module that occupies a single instrument slot in a VXI mainframe. The model delivers isolated DC voltage and DC current outputs across each of its four channels. The signal connectivity for the converter is established via a P1 connector using Slave A16 and D16 VXIbus interface capability. The converter produces a DC voltage output range of ± 10.92 V across all channels in calibrated mode. Disabling calibration extends the voltage range to ± 12 V offering a wider programmable output span. The voltage output remains monotonic to 2 mV at 25 °C and achieves 16 bit resolution in uncalibrated mode. The DC current output of the E1328A spans a calibrated range of ± 21.8 mA per channel. Disabling calibration expands the current output range to ± 24.0 mA across each of the four channels. The calibrated programming interval for current is 667 nA enabling precise low level current output control. The current output remains monotonic to 4 μA at 25 °C and provides 16 bit resolution in uncalibrated mode.
The compliance voltage for the current output is 13 V and typical output impedance exceeds 25 MΩ. The maximum open circuit voltage does not exceed 19 V under any specified operating condition. The compliance current is 24 mA and the short circuit output current limit is capped at 30 mA. The differential ripple and noise for the converter is below 2 mVrms from 20 Hz to 250 kHz at 1 kΩ. The E1328A D/A Converter draws peak module currents of 0.40 A at + 5 V and 0.50 A at + 12 V. The dynamic module currents are 0.02 A at + 5 V and 0.01 A at + 12 V. The module power consumption is 6.5 watts per slot with 0.11 mm H?O cooling at 0.52 L/s. The humidity tolerance of the converter is 65 % specified over an ambient operating temperature range of 0 to 40 °C.
