Keysight/Agilent E1355A 8-Channel Strain Relay Multiplexer
The Keysight E1355A is an 8-channel, 120-ohm strain relay multiplexer specifically engineered for precise industrial strain measurement. It operates as a 1-slot register-based VXI module designed for industrial automation test systems. The model delivers bridge completion and excitation voltage circuitry for up to eight independent measurement channels. It supports full bridge, half bridge and quarter bridge strain gauge measurement configurations across all channels.
The relay multiplexer achieves a resolution of 0.01 με at 5 V excitation for full bridge measurements. At 1 V excitation, the full bridge resolution is rated at 0.05 με for accurate data acquisition. The half-bridge resolution at 5 V excitation is also specified at 0.02 μe per individual measurement channel. The quarter-bridge resolution is rated at 0.04 με at 5 V and 0.2 με at 1 V excitation.
The Keysight Strain Relay Multiplexer uses an internal 5 V excitation power supply or an external supply such as the HP 6214C. The maximum ripple and noise requirement for excitation voltage is 1 mV peak to peak from 20 Hz to 20 MHz. The reference junction measurement accuracy is 0.3 °C within a specified operating temperature range of 18 °C to 28 °C. These specifications ensure reliable and highly accurate signal conditioning performance across all demanding industrial measurement environments.
The multiplexer accepts a maximum DC voltage of 120 VDC from any terminal to chassis. The maximum AC rms voltage is rated at 120 V rms from any terminal to chassis connection. The maximum allowable current per channel common for noninductive load configurations is specified at 50 mA. The maximum power handling per channel is rated at 1 VA for safe and stable module operation.
The E1355A Strain Relay Multiplexer provides a minimum bandwidth of 10 MHz at -3 dB with a 50 Ω source and load configuration. The channel-to-channel crosstalk at 100 kHz is suppressed to –80 dB with protection resistors shorted and guard tied to chassis. At 10 MHz, the channel-to-channel crosstalk is measured at -40 dB under the same test and measurement conditions.
