The Keysight E1401B is a 13-slot VXI mainframe engineered for high-power industrial automation applications. It delivers ample dynamic and peak currents to support the most demanding and power-hungry instrumentation systems. It provides a high-density modular platform for test and measurement applications requiring consistent power delivery.
The Keysight VXI mainframe provides an identical maximum available power output of 1690 W at 25°C and 40°C. At 55°C, the available power output for the model is thermally derated to a maximum of 1488 W. On a 120–240 Vac input, the usable power is 900 W at 25 °C and 800 W at 40 °C. The mainframe delivers a consistent usable power output of 650 W across all temperatures at a 100 Vac input.
The inrush current for the E1401B is rated at a maximum of 40 A at system startup. The mainframe includes a +5VSTDBY rail that supports a user-supplied maximum standby current of 1 A. This standby supply connects through dedicated power taps positioned on the rear panel of the chassis. These taps provide standby voltage and ground inputs directly to the VXI backplane for system management.
The mainframe supports 50 – 60 Hz AC power input with automatic voltage ranging from 100 to 240 Vac ± 10 %. The nominal frequency range for this AC configuration spans 50 – 60 Hz at a system tolerance of ± 10%. The nominal voltage input range is 100 – 120 Vac with a frequency tolerance of ± 10% for 400 Hz operation. The DC power input is also supported across an input range from 100 Vdc minimum to 370 Vdc maximum.
The E1401B VXI High Power Mainframe measures 310 mm in height without bottom feet and 323 mm with bottom feet installed. Attaching the cable tray extends the total height to either 352 mm or 396 mm by configuration. The mainframe width is 426 mm, providing compatibility with standard rack and enclosure mounting configurations. The model has a depth of 574 mm without rear feet and 590 mm with rear feet attached. The unit weighs 21 kg (46 lbs).
