Keysight/Agilent E1474A 75 Ohm RF Multiplexer
The E1474A RF Multiplexer from Keysight (formerly from Agilent) is a VXI C size register based module. It occupies one slot within compact automated measurement platforms. The module contains 6 independent switching banks supporting reliable signal routing across dedicated RF measurement channels. Each bank connects one active channel toward its corresponding common terminal during controlled switching operations. It maintains consistent 75 Ohm impedance throughout broadband signal applications. The module supports frequencies from DC through 1.3 GHz for accurate transmission across connected systems. Non latching armature relays provide dependable switching performance during repetitive automated testing sequences within integrated assemblies.
The closed channel resistance remains below 1 Ohm initially which supports stable low distortion signal continuity characteristics. The unit supports maximum switching voltages reaching 42 V peak across center shield and chassis connections. Each channel and common terminal supports 1 A DC or AC rms operating current capacity. Maximum switching power reaches 24 W DC or 24 VA AC during continuous operational conditions. Thermal offset remains limited below 6 micro-Volt which supports precision sensitive RF signal measurement environments.
The insertion loss performance remains below 0.3 dB for frequencies operating under 10 MHz signal conditions. The frequencies under 500 MHz experience insertion loss below 0.8 dB across controlled switching operations consistently. Signal frequencies close to 1.3 GHz have insertion loss in the range of 1 dB in active measurement routing sequence. The E1474A multiplexer also provides voltage standing wave ratio performance of less than 1.05 in controlled impedance environments for frequencies less than 10 MHz. VSWR values are lower than 1.15 at frequencies below 100 MHz for efficient broadband signal matching.
The unit can be programmed with SCPI commands by using the logical addressing switches. It efficiently controls external relays with 5 V 12 V or 24 V drive configurations. The crosstalk performance remains below -85 dB for frequencies under 10 MHz. The crosstalk stays less than -60 dB for frequencies that lie under 500 MHz during simultaneous measurement operations. The SMB male connectors on the front panel provide secure RF cable connections for testing systems.
