Keysight/Agilent E1475A RF Multiplexer Expander
The E1475A from Keysight/Agilent is an RF Multiplexer Expander designed for automated test systems. It operates as a C size, 1 slot register based VXI module in a standard VXI chassis configuration. This module provides structured and reliable signal routing across six independent 1 × 4 multiplexer switching paths. The internal relays in the model are non latching armature types that default to all open on power up.
The expander maintains a characteristic impedance of 75 Ω that ensures consistent and reliable broadband AC performance. The insertion loss is specified below 0.3 dB at 10 MHz and below 1.0 dB at 1.3 GHz. The channel to channel crosstalk is better than - 85 dB below 10 MHz and better than - 75 dB below 100 MHz. The VSWR values range from less than 1.05 below 10 MHz to less than 1.5 at 1.3 GHz.
The DC functionality of the RF Multiplexer Expander includes a measured maximum thermal offset of 6 μV per channel. The closed channel resistance is typically rated below 1 Ω initial across all of its internal switching paths. The insulation resistance between any two terminals exceeds 108 Ω at temperatures up to 40 °C and 65 % RH. These electrical characteristics ensure accurate low level signal integrity during DC measurement and module switching operations.
The E1475A multiplexer expander achieves a signal risetime of less than 300 ps within its relay switching network. Signal delay through the module switching paths is specified at less than 3 ns per channel. The channel to common crosstalk with one channel closed and terminated is measured below -60 dB at 500 MHz. The expander accepts a maximum input voltage of 42 V in center or shield to center configurations. The maximum current capacity of the model is rated at 1 A DC and 1 A AC rms per channel or common. The maximum power handling is 24 W DC and 24 VA AC per channel.
