Keysight/Agilent E1497A V743/64 VXI Embedded Controller
The Keysight E1497A Embedded Controller is powered by the PA 7100LC processor operating at a clock speed of 64 MHz. It provides a scalable main memory range of 16 to 64 MB for system processing needs. As a VXI-based controller, the model integrates directly into modular instrument chassis for embedded test control.
The E1497A controller includes a comprehensive set of built-in interfaces to address diverse industrial connectivity requirements. The two RS-232 serial ports are provided as primary communication interfaces on this controller. A SCSI-II interface and a LAN port with AUI connectivity complete the main interface set of the controller. The trigger I/O and Clock I/O ports support precise synchronization across instruments within the VXI system. The controller is compatible with HP-UX 9.05 as the earliest supported operating system for this controller.
The model dissipates 59 watts per slot under standard operating conditions within a VXI chassis. A minimum differential pressure of 0.30 mm H?O across the module is required to ensure adequate cooling. The controller requires an air flow rate of 4.70 liters per second for proper thermal management. Meeting these requirements ensures stable and uninterrupted operation of the model in industrial automation systems.
The SE keyboard and mouse inputs are supported on the E1497A controller for direct operator interaction with the system. A speaker-out connection is also provided for audio feedback during test and automation sequences. The controller supports color display output at standard resolutions of 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024 for monitoring purposes. The external storage options include a 600 MB CD-ROM drive available as an optional accessory for this controller.
The E1497A V743/64 VXI Embedded Controller draws a peak current of 10 A at the +5 V supply during primary module operation. The +12 V supply draws 0.25 A, while the −5.2 V rail draws 0.56 A. The − −12 V rail draws 0.08 A, while the − −2 V rail requires 0.48 A for operation. The +24 V rail draws 0.04 A, completing the full power consumption profile of the controller.
