Keysight/Agilent E1662A 155.622 Mb/s Optical Interface Module
The Keysight/Agilent E1662A is a SONET/SDH Optical Line Interface module for VXI test systems. The model operates at 155 Mb/s and 622 Mb/s rates on one card. It forms a core component of the Agilent Broadband Series Test Systems platform. The module delivers optical access for testing SONET/SDH equipment at OC-3/STM-1 and OC-12/STM-4 levels. The model functions as the transmit and receive front end within the BSTS architecture. The module captures return traffic from the system under test for further analysis. This design allows precise physical layer testing of SONET/SDH equipment under controlled lab conditions. The module uses a VXI C-size single slot form factor for mainframe compatibility. It connects to the VXI mainframe backplane through the P1 and P2 connectors. The module is typically a register based VXI device overall. It communicates over both the Local Bus A and Local Bus C lines. it further uses the TTL Trigger Bus and the ECL Trigger Bus.
The Agilent E1662A draws operating power primarily through the VXI backplane five volt rail. The typical current draw for transmitter and receiver falls between 1 and 3 amps. The smaller + and – 12 volt rails support analog circuitry on the card. The model relies on forced air cooling supplied through the VXI mainframe backplane.
