The module forms the traffic-generation half of a complete generator and analyzer test pair. It operates together with the E1694A receiver within the 75000 Series 90 SONET/SDH/ATM test platform. The engineers use this instrument to validate ATM network equipment performance under controlled traffic conditions. The generator produces consistent cell streams for verifying B-ISDN equipment performance and overall reliability. This capability supports automated test environments across telecommunications and broader industrial network applications.
The Agilent E1693A ATM Generator operates reliably across an ambient temperature range of 0 °C to + 45 °C. The storage temperature for the module extends across a wider range from – 40 °C to + 70°C. The relative humidity specification for the module covers 0 % to 95 % RH non-condensing between 25 °C and 40 °C. The operating altitude for the unit reaches approximately 2000 meters above sea level during normal use.
