Agilent/HP E1694A 155/622 Mb/s ATM Receiver
The Agilent/HP E1694A is a 155/622 Mb/s ATM receiver module for VXIbus based industrial automation systems. It receives ATM signals and supports ATM Forum UNI protocol versions 3.1, 4.0 and 4.1. This receiver operates at two selectable data rates of 155 Mb/s and 622 Mb/s. The model operates at a fixed optical wavelength of 1310 nm across its receiver interface. The optical interface on the receiver supports both SC/PC and FC/PC connector types for fiber termination. The module covers a maximum operating distance of 40 kilometers over single mode fiber links. Its optical return loss rating of 45 dB or higher ensures stable signal reception.
The Agilent/HP E1694A’s sensitivity is rated at - 35 dBm for reliable detection of weak optical signals. Its input power range spans from - 8 dBm to - 25 dBm across both data rates. The loss of signal threshold for the model is also set at - 35 dBm for fault detection. The jitter tolerance for this ATM receiver module is rated at 0.5 UI or less. The module measures 210 mm by 22 mm by 185 mm in overall size. It weighs 0.8 kilograms making it suitable for standard VXI mainframe slot installation. The module requires a regulated + 5 VDC power supply rated at 2 amps for operation. The cooling for the model is provided through forced air via the mainframe backplane or fan tray.
The operating temperature range for the E1694A spans 0 °C to + 50 °C for stable function. The storage temperature for the module extends from – 40 °C to + 70 °C with a typical rating to + 75 °C. The operating relative humidity for the model ranges from 5 % to 95 % on a non condensing basis. This humidity rating derates to approximately 65 % RH above 40 °C during operating conditions. The storage relative humidity for the ATM receiver reaches up to 95 % RH between 0 °C and 55 °C. This storage humidity reduces to approximately 90 % RH between 55 °C and 75 °C non condensing. The operating altitude for the model extends up to approximately 2,000 meters above sea level.
