Keysight M9038A PXIe Embedded Controller
The Keysight M9038A PXIe Embedded Controller has four slots and was designed to meet the needs of demanding industrial automation and multi-chassis test systems. This module uses an Intel Coffee Lake six-core i7-9850HE processor that supports twelve simultaneous threads and is a good compute engine for complex measurement routines, high-throughput data acquisition, and real-time control operations. The embedded controller comes with Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC already installed along with all the necessary Keysight I/O libraries, PXIe chassis drivers, VISA, and Connection Expert software to allow immediate integration into your system.
The M9038A also provides two DDR4-2666 SODIMM socket sites for memory; both are populated with 32GB of memory and may be upgraded to 64GB. In addition, a 512GB front-accessible, removable NVMe M.2 solid-state drive allows fast boot times and physical protection from unauthorized access into sensitive areas. The ability to remove the SSD when not being used also adds to this level of secure operation. This secure operation is further enhanced through the inclusion of a Trusted Platform Module version 2.0 (TPM 2.0) chip set and a UEFI Secure Boot process.
Front panel connections include dual Thunderbolt 3 ports, which support daisy-chaining four 4K monitors or a single 5K display; a DisplayPort++ port that can be converted to HDMI using an adapter; two USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports; a GPIB connector; a Gigabit Ethernet port; and a 10 GbE port. The controller's PCIe backplane interface will configure dynamically as either two links (x8 & x16) or four x4 links for up to sixteen gigabits per second of data bandwidth to the PXIe chassis. For these reasons, the Keysight M9038A PXIe Embedded Controller is ideal for automated test equipment in aerospace, defense, and electronics manufacturing, where high levels of computing power, security, and synchronization across multiple chassis are required.
