National Instruments 776844-01 Multifunction I/O Card

The part number 776844-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the DAQCard-AI-16XE-50 Multifunction I/O Card. This I/O card has a 16-bit resolution and is designed for portable PCMCIA slots. The 776844-01 features 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels that are software-selectable and support unipolar and bipolar input ranges. To convert the signal to digital for signal processing, this Multifunction I/O card features a 16-bit analog-to-digital converter for converting the analog signal into a high-definition and accurate digital copy. 

This I/O card can sample a maximum of 200-kilo samples of data in a given second allowing it to quickly acquire data and process it with accuracy and reliability. This module offers programmable gain settings, allowing the users to optimize the input range which can be configured to ±10 Volts, ±5 Volts, ±2 Volts, and ±1 Volts for differential measurements, and 0 to 10 Volts, 0 to 5 Volts, 0 to 2 Volts, and 0 to 1 Volts for single-ended measurements. 

The 776844-01 features 8 digital I/O lines which can be configured as inputs or output or a combination of both depending on the application the module is being used for. For generating clock signals and performing precise time-related measurements, the 776844-01 features two 24-bit counters or timers. The 776844-01 can also provide clock signals to connected external modules as well as synchronize with them.

This I/O module has an operating temperature range of 0 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius and can be stored in an environment with an ambient temperature range of -20 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius. This module meets international safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards, including IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, and CSA 61010-1 for safety, and EN 61326-1, EN 55011, and FCC Part 15 Class A for EMC. The 776844-01 does not come with an Ingress Protection to keep the module safe from large dust particles, scratches, or even liquid splashes. It should be installed in an enclosure for it to operate in harsh industrial environments and to keep its performance optimum while also prolonging the life of the I/O module.
