National Instruments 779136-01 C Series Digital Module

The part number 779136-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the NI-9421 C Series Digital Module. This module is designed to work at an optimum temperature of -40 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius and should be stored at a suitable storage temperature of -40 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. Its operating relative humidity is 10% RH to 90% RH, noncondensing while its storage relative humidity level is 5% RH to 95% RH, noncondensing. The 779136-01 is made for safe use as it is equipped with ingress protection of IP40, which prevents the entry of insects and damage from tools and wirings. This digital module is made for use at an altitude of 2000 meters and has a pollution degree of 2. It is designed for indoor use only where non-conductive pollution occurs.

The 779136-01 module features 8 sinking digital input channels with digital input logic levels of less than 5 V and 300 μA during the OFF state while during the ON state, the logic levels are 11 V to 30 V and greater than 3 mA of current. The I/O channels have protections of up to 40 V maximum of input voltage and 7 mA maximum of input current.

To make this model functional, it draws power from the chassis of about 240 mW maximum at active mode and 7 mW maximum at sleep mode. It also dissipates some of the power, about 1.3 W maximum at active mode and 1.1 W maximum at sleep mode. The NI 779136-01 has terminal safety voltages that give protection to its circuitry in terms of overvoltage and reverse bias conditions. It has a channel-to-COM voltage of 30 V maximum while channeling to-earth ground voltage of 250 V RMS continuous and 2,300 V RMS withstand.

The C Series module offers both screw terminal wiring and spring terminal wiring. For screw terminal wiring, its required gauge is 0.2 mm^2 to 2.5 mm^2 with 13 mm of insulation stripped from the end while for the spring terminal wiring, 10 mm of insulation must be stripped from the end and should have a gauge of 0.2 mm^2 to 2.5 mm^2.
