National Instruments created the sbRIO-9693

National Instruments created the sbRIO-9693 (Part Number: 153170-01), a two-slot C Series RIO Mezzanine Card, to link two board-only C Series modules to the sbRIO-9623/9626. The kit contains necessary parts including three C Series Module Support Brackets, an Isolator Sheet, seven M3 × 7 mm Silver Low-Profile Screws, ten M3 × 4 mm Black Low-Profile Screws, and six M3 × 7 mm Standoffs.

Two tools are needed to install the sbRIO-9693: a #1 Phillips screwdriver and a 4.5 mm socket driver. For screws, the torque is 0.45 N·m (4.0 lb·in). It can function in the temperature range of -40 to 85 °C and weighs 70 g (2.5 oz). Additionally, the storage temperature range is -40 to 85 °C. While the storage humidity range is 5 to 95% RH, noncondensing, the working humidity range is 10 to 90% RH.

It is intended exclusively for indoor usage and has a maximum operating altitude of 5,000 meters. The sbRIO-9693's main purpose is to make it easier for board-only C Series modules to be connected to sbRIO devices that are compatible with them, including the NI sbRIO-9605 or NI sbRIO-9606. Board-only C Series modules are placed 0.3 inches (7.6 mm) above the module surface, and the operational temperature of these modules is measured as part of the thermal validation process for a sbRIO system assembled with the sbRIO-9693.
