The 779471-01, often referred to as the USB-9162, is a versatile and highly portable single-module carrier CompactDAQ chassis from National Instruments. Designed for NI C Series modules, this cost-effective solution is ideal for stand-alone applications, prototyping sensor connections, and debugging larger systems. It is compatible with various C Series chassis, including NI CompactDAQ, CompactRIO, and R Series expansion chassis.

A green LED on this chassis shows the state of the device clearly and is located next to the USB port. In the event that the LED goes out, the gadget is either disconnected or in suspend mode. If there is a constant light, it means that the device is connected but either the module is not installed or it hasn't been initialized. It can also indicate that the system is in standby mode. A single blink indicates that the gadget is initialized and getting power; a double blink verifies that normal operation is occurring.

Physically, the 779471-01 is quite portable and simple to include into different configurations because it weighs only 101 grams (3.5 ounces) and measures 114.6 mm by 85.7 mm by 25.1 mm (4.51 inches by 3.37 inches by 0.99 inches).
