National Instruments cRIO-9004 CompactRIO Controller
The cRIO-9004 (part number: 779055-01) is a CompactRIO controller with extended temperatures. The CRIO-9004 comes with nonvolatile built-in memory and a storage capacity of 512 MB. This model also has the DRAM value of 64 MB. The cRIO-9004 comes with the capability to consume very low power. This module has an operational temperature range of -40 to 70 degrees Celsius.
The front panel of the instrument offers various interfaces and optional capabilities. There is a built-in RS-232 serial port and an RJ-45 Ethernet port. The serial port offers the maximum baud rate of 115,200 bps and has data bits from 5 to 8. It also has parity and flow control mechanisms. The user can perform controller communication with external devices. This model also provides valuable boot options. The user can configure the controller to launch an embedded stand-alone application.
The NI device is run using the NI-RIO driver software, which can be programmed using software packages or application development environments (ADEs) such as the LabVIEW FPGA Module or the LabVIEW Real-Time Module. It can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tools.
The cRIO-9004 has a recommended storage temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C; non-condensing operating and storage humidity ranges of 10% RH to 90% RH and 5% RH to 95% RH; and random and sinusoidal operating vibrations of 5 grms and 5 g, respectively—all at a frequency range of 10 to 500 Hz. The NI cRIO-9004 controller has the dimensions of 90.2 x 77.3 x 88.1 millimeters and weighs around 488 grams. The controller operates with an NEC Class 2 power source, with a recommended power supply of 48 watts. This model has the maximum power consumption of seven watts.
