National Instruments cRIO-9023 CompactRIO Controller

The cRIO-9023 (Part numbers: 781173-01 and 781173-02) is an embedded CompactRIO Controller designed by National Instruments. The difference between the two versions is that part number 781172-02 comes with conformal coating, whereas part number 781173-01 does not have conformal coating. The cRIO 9023 has been designed for monitoring and control applications with C Series devices. The cRIO-9023 is compatible with older cRIO configurable chassis. These chassis include FPGAs. These FPGAs can be programmed.

The NI cRIO-9023 CompactRIO Controller incorporates a 533 MHz real-time processor, which is the Freescale MPC8347 type. This model has two Ethernet ports. The Ethernet ports support a cabling distance up to 100 meters per segment. The NI cRIO 9023 supports a remote user-interface through Ethernet ports. This model also has an RS-232 serial port. The baud rate of the serial port is in the range of 600 bps - 230.4 kbps. The Controller also features a USB port. USB-based storage media can be connected to the cRIO-9023 through this port to increase the memory. The data rate of the USB port is up to 480 Mb/s. The non-volatile memory is 2 GB. The Controller also has a DRAM size of 256 MB.

The cRIO-9023 CompactRIO Controller incorporates an internal real-time clock. The accuracy of this clock is 200 ppm. The power consumption of the Controller when operating at full load is 35W. The Controller requires a power supply of 35 VDC. Filters are available in the cRIO-9023 to regulate the supplied power.
