National Instruments 777962-01 Multifunction I/O Module
The National Instruments 777962-01 PXI Multifunction I/O Module is part of the PXI-6052 model series. This module provides data acquisition (DAQ) capabilities appropriate for research, design verification/test, production test, and laboratory automation, among other uses. It has sixteen (16 bit) resolution analog inputs (AI) with a maximum sampling rate of 333 kS/s. The module has eight TTL-compatible digital I/O (DIO) lines and two analog outputs (AO) with a resolution of 16 bits and a maximum update rate of 333 kS/s. It also features two 24-bit counter/timers.
By connecting the 777962-01 to the PCI or PXI I/O bus, the NI MXI Interface to Everything (MITE) enables a switchless and jumperless architecture. Because this interface conforms to the PCI Local Bus Specification, software can be used to specify all interrupts and base memory locations. The software configuration and calibration process are made easier by the lack of potentiometers, jumpers, or DIP switches.
The National Instruments DAQ system timing controller (DAQ-STC) is used by this module to control time-related operations. With a maximum timing resolution of 50 ns, the DAQ-STC is made up of three timing groups that manage the AI, AO, and general-purpose counter/timer (GPCTR) operations. It also offers seven 24-bit and three 16-bit counters. Applications like equivalent time sampling, buffered pulse generation, and smooth sampling rate adjustments are supported by these properties.
The 777962-01 uses the Real-Time System Integration (RTSI) bus, which sends timing and trigger signals between up to five DAQ devices in a computer, to synchronize different measurement operations. Precise coordination for intricate measuring activities is ensured by the RTSI bus interface and cable.
The input features include sixteen software-selectable single-ended or eight differential channels that use successive approximation ADCs. With an output impedance of 0.1 Ω and a current drive of ±5 mA, the analog outputs have ranges of ±10 V, 0 to 10 V, and ±EXTREF. The module's short-circuit to ground characteristics provide protection, and its power-on state is set at 0 V (±20 mV).
