National Instruments FP-AIO-600 Analog Input/Output Module

Featured with four current or voltage analog input channels, four analog current output channels, 1.7 kHz hardware update rate, and 12-bit resolution, the NI FP-AIO-600 (Part Number: 777518-600) is an Analog Input/Output Module for FieldPoint. This hot-swappable module is offered with ±10 V or ±100 mA protection for current inputs and has onboard diagnostics as well.

The NI FP-AIO-600 offers three input ranges for current sources: +20 to -20 mA, 0 to 20 mA, and 4 to 20 mA. FieldPoint software shows adjusted ranges after compensating for the overranging feature of the FP-AIO-600. This model comes with four current output channels which are single-ended. These output channels source current from an externally located 10 VDC to 30 VDC 125 milliampere power supply. All four output channels and their common terminals remain wholly isolated from the other I/O modules installed and operating on the same FieldPoint system. However, there is no isolation between the four input channels and four output channels.

This module allows users to configure each channel independently in terms of the output range. By default, the unit is configured to operate with 0 to 20 mA as the output range. The National Instruments FP-AIO-600 comes with a dedicated monitoring circuit on each of the channels. This monitoring circuit compares the specified output current to the actual output current. If the unit fails in sourcing the measured output current for any one or more of its channels, then it is considered an open-loop. A red STATUS LED is provided to communicate any open loops or other errors.
