The part number 7779616-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the PXI-6230 Multifunctional Module that features 8 single-ended analog inputs for measuring voltages with respect to a common ground or 4 differential analog inputs for more accurate measurements between two inputs by canceling out common-mode noise. The inputs have a resolution of 16 bits allowing the module to create 65,536 different voltage levels for more precise readings. With a maximum sampling rate of 250 kS/s, the module captures 250,000 samples per second per channel increasing the precision. 

The 779616-01 Multifunctional Module has 4 Analog outputs with a higher sampling rate of 500 kS/s compared to the input allowing the module to quickly update the output voltage levels with respect to the input. The module supports DMA (scatter-gather), interrupts, and programmed I/O data transferring methods enabling flexible and efficient data transfers between the module and external devices. 779616-01 can also generate Non-periodic waveform, periodic waveform regeneration mode from onboard FIFO, and periodic waveform regeneration from host buffer including dynamic update, catering to a wide range of applications, from simple repetitive signals to complex, dynamically changing waveforms, offering versatility and performance in analog output operations.

The Digital I/O/PFI of this module has 6 channels dedicated to the inputs and 4 channels dedicated to the outputs with unified ground ensuring consistent electrical potential promoting accuracy in signal processing. For simplicity the direction flow of the current is unidirectional and for protection, the input voltage is limited to ±20 Volts. The current draw from the bus during no-load conditions when the module is not transmitting data is 0.5 Amperes at 5 volts DC and 20 mA at 12 Volts DC. Under the AI and AO overvoltage condition, the current draw from the bus is 0.75 Amperes at 5 volts DC and 20 mA at 12 Volts DC.

This module has a standard 3U PXI design making it 100mm tall. It weighs approximately 150 g (5.2 oz) and features a 37-pin D-SUB I/O connector for transmitting data to external devices. The module should be operated in an environment with an ambient temperature between 0 to 55 °C (Tested in accordance with IEC-60068-2-1 and IEC-60068-2-2) and should be mounted at an altitude of 2,000 meters maximum.
