National Instruments PCI-6224 Multifunction DAQ

The National Instruments PCI-6224 (Part Number: 779067-01) is a 16-Bit Multifunction Data Acquisition Device from the M Series. This model offers 32 Analog Inputs (16 differential or 32 single-ended), 48 Digital Input/Output Channels, and can acquire samples at 250 kS/s while operating in one channel or multichannel mode. The analog inputs of the NI PCI-6224 are processed through 16 bit analog to digital converters. This DAQ offers waveform generation and acquisition through its Port 0.

The NI PCI-6224 is known for its robust configuration as it comes with 48 x 5 Volt logic Digital Input/Output lines. These digital lines include 16 PFI lines. Each PFI input features a programmable debouncing filter that can be enabled or disabled by users.  For ensuring easy access to its channels, the PCI-6224 comes incorporated with two 68-pin VHDCI type female connectors. Moreover, all DIO signals in the PCI-6224 National Instruments operate under integrated protection against under voltage, overcurrent, under voltage conditions, and ESD events.

In its default configuration, the hardware sets all DIO and PFI channels to high-impedance inputs. However, the user can also set programmable power-up states with the help of NI-DAQmx to allow a desired value at power up. With this model, the users will be able to achieve synchronization in several ways depending on the application, since this model comes with an RTSI bus and various routing capabilities. For complete plug and play operation, the NI PCI-6224 is designed jumperless and allows the operating system to assign the base address automatically.

PCI-6224 Legacy Status has been announced by National Instruments, but will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
