National Instruments USB-6215 Multifunction I/O Device
The National Instruments USB-6215 (Part Numbers: 780105-01, 779677-01) is an isolated multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) device intended for a variety of industrial automation test, control, and design applications. With its extensive feature set, which includes digital input/output, analogue input/output, and two 32-bit counters, it is appropriate for a variety of applications, including in-vehicle data acquisition, field monitoring, embedded OEM applications, and portable data logging. Part number 779677-01 is the identifying number for the standard variation of the USB-6215, while part number 780105-01 is the version of the device that is designed as a base for Linux and Mac.
With its 60 V CAT I isolation, the USB-6215 offers enhanced safety and precision, ensuring accurate readings even in harsh settings. Its bus-powered operation and lightweight mechanical housing increase portability. Featuring 16-bit resolution and a maximum sampling rate of 250 kS/s per channel, the device offers 8 differential or 16 single-ended analogue input channels. It has remarkable features including 50 ppm timing precision, 100 dB common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR), and overvoltage protection up to ±30 V. It enables many input ranges (-10 V to +10 V).
The USB-6215 has two channels with 16-bit resolution and a maximum update rate of 250 kS/s each channel for analogue output. It is appropriate for waveform creation and control applications because it produces accurate output signals with minimal distortion and quick settling periods. The USB-6215 provides two general-purpose counters/timers, four digital input and four digital output channels, and analog I/O. Pull-down resistors and ±20 V input voltage protection are features of the digital I/O channels that provide reliable signal handling.
The device has a FIFO size of 1,023 samples for data storage, configurable routing choices, and support for a variety of counter measures and output applications. Its USB Signal Stream technology improves performance and dependability by allowing bidirectional, high-speed data streaming over USB. Measuring 16.9 cm × 9.4 cm × 3.1 cm and weighing 206 g, the USB-6215 is a compact device. It has a Series B receptacle for USB connections and 16-position combicon connectors for I/O cabling. It is appropriate for indoor use in a variety of settings, with an operational temperature range of 0 ºC to 45 ºC and a storage temperature range of -20 ºC to 70 ºC.
