The National Instruments 779504-01 Mxi-Express Device for PXI Remote Control is part of the PCIe-8361 model line. It functions as an MXI-Express remote controller, allowing remote control of devices or systems via cabled PCI from a computer having a PCI Express slot. This device connects an x1 PCI Express link to the PXIe-8360 remote control module via copper cable, allowing for efficient PXI system control.

The 779504-01 works transparently with software programs and drivers, simplifying control procedures without requiring additional programming. PXI modules can be accessed via NI remote controllers as if they were directly installed PCI devices in the computer.

This device utilizes a dual-simplex communication channel while using MXI-Express x1 technology. Data is transmitted at a rate of 2.5 Gbps in both directions simultaneously. Notably, the PCI-SIG's cabled PCI Express definition is incompatible with the port on the 779504-01.
