National Instruments NB-MIO-16 Multifunction I/O Board

The NB-MIO-16 is a Multifunction I/O Board used for performing many functions for the Macintosh NuBus computer. National Instruments is the manufacturer of the NI NB-MIO-16 I/O Board. This Multifunction I/O Board can be used to perform digital, analog counter/timing functions with single board. The NB-MIO-16 board has three 16-bit timer/counter channels, sixteen 12-bit analog inputs with an analog to digital converter, two 12-bit voltage outputs with a digital to analog converter, and eight TTL compatible digital I/O lines. The NB-MIO-16 data transfer rate can be achieved up to 100 kbytes/s.

The main advantage of this Multifunction I/O Board is the user-friendly aspect and capability for the board to work in different environments. The NI NB-MIO-16 can be used in many industrial and domestic applications, such as in instrumentation and controlling purposes, for level monitoring functions, for process control functions, for automatic machine control, and many other measuring and monitoring functions. For achieving high speed function generating, the NB-MIO-16 can be interfaced with an NI-RTSI bus to provide direct memory access (DMA) in confluence with the DMA board.

The sixteen analog inputs with 12-bit ADCs are used for data logging, signal processing, transient analysis, and chromatography. The two voltage outputs with 12-bit DACs are used for analog signal function generation, process control, and automatic machine control functions. The eight digital I/O lines compatible with TTL are used in laboratory functions such as laboratory equipment and frequency timer control, and clock or pulse generation signals. All these functions are automatically monitored and controlled through it.
