National Instruments 763061-005 GPIB Cable
Part Number 763061-005 from National Instruments is a 0.5-metre X2 GPIB cable assembly that provides a precision 24M/F-24M/F double-shielded connection suitable for use within any high-reliability, robust application such as instrument control. The 763061-005 cable is used to connect GPIB-enabled devices/interfaces directly into a GPIB-enabled computer or GPIB controller, thereby allowing users to communicate digitally via GPIB with their measurement/automation equipment. As part of the National Instruments GPIB Cable Family, the 763061-005 X2 cable has been developed to meet the requirements of the IEEE 488 standard and therefore can be used with all GPIB-compatible products, including but not limited to laboratory and industrial test/measurement instrumentation.
To ensure signal integrity while maintaining reliability in high-noise electrical environments, the GPIB cable has a double-shielded construction with each end having shielded connectors (male & female) that have a very low level of electromagnetic interference. The 763061-005's architecture makes it simple to connect to GPIB controllers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other programmable instruments because it uses both male and female IEEE 488 24-pin connectors. Additionally, the user can daisy-chain several devices onto a single GPIB bus thanks to its stacking connector architecture, which removes the need to add more GPIB controller ports when extending a system. Due to its short 0.5-metre length, the 763061-005 is ideal for use in either rack-mounted systems or on benchtops where the measurement/test equipment is located relatively close together.
In addition to being a key component in creating automated test systems in R&D labs, manufacturing areas and QA facilities, the 763061-005 X2 GPIB cable also provides a physically isolated (shielded) layer for the GPIB bus, thereby providing a reliable means for transmitting data accurately and controlling devices reliably. Both aspects are critical to achieving low levels of measurement error and increasing test throughput.
