The National Instruments 777584-05 is a compact and versatile DC power supply designed to provide reliable and constant power to all forms of data acquisition and signal conditioning equipment. Also known as the PS-2, the 777584-05 provides a stable DC output of 24VDC @ .8A, ideal for providing power to your instrument chassis, modules, and controllers that have a lower current draw. In addition to the stable and reliable DC output, this DC power supply has a universal input of 100 to 240 VAC, which does not require users to manually select the input voltage based on their country's electrical grid. With the use of universal input, you can easily take your test equipment around the world with you.
This power supply uses the least amount of energy possible by converting approximately 80% to 85% of the energy from the incoming AC power to usable DC power. Using the most efficient method to convert energy helps reduce both the amount of heat generated and, reduces the overall cost of ownership over time.
The 777584-05 comes complete with the enclosed power supply and an AC line cord that matches the destination country's electrical outlet requirements. It also includes the DC output cable needed to connect to your target NI chassis or accessory. Although it is a desktop-type supply, it is not limited to being used on a workbench or desktop. It is also suitable for smaller automated testing cells and/or field-portable testing applications. Another advantage of using this power supply is its ease of use. All you need to do is simply "plug and play" to substitute or replace power supplies for your NI SCXI, DAQ, or signal conditioning chassis without having to go through the process of rewiring. This greatly simplifies maintenance and upgrading your systems.
In real-world usage, this PS-2 power supply is commonly used to provide power to National Instruments signal conditioning chassis and low-power data acquisition modules used in measurement, control, and monitoring functions in various types of laboratories (research), manufacturing testing stations, and educational engineering departments. Due to the fact that this power supply provides a relatively low amount of DC power (.8 amps), it should be used for instruments that have a lighter load requirement, such as some transducers or sensors, versus higher-powered motors or actuators.
