National Instruments 779382-01 PXI Chassis

As Part of the PXI-1036 model line, the National Instruments 779382-01 PXI Chassis was created to satisfy the demanding cooling and power needs of contemporary PXI applications. This 6-slot chassis, which can be used with both a remote controller and a two-slot embedded controller, is perfect for real-time, remote, and data acquisition applications. It smoothly combines a structural design that is maximized for usage in a variety of applications with a 6-slot PXI backplane.

The chassis includes an automated voltage and frequency range on its universal AC input, which allows it to be compatible with a wide range of power sources. It also supports 3U PXI and CompactPCI (PICMG 2.0 R 3.0) modules. The PXI-1036DC model additionally offers a DC power input option. In addition to an AC power connection that functions as the primary power disconnect, the front panel features an easy-to-access On/Off (Standby) power switch. The CompactPCI/PXI backplane receives DC power from the internal chassis power supply, which is managed via the front-panel switch.

With airflow directed from the bottom to the top of the module, the 779382-01 is designed for effective cooling and has a 25 W cooling capacity per slot. Using a 101.1 CFM fan with a HIGH/AUTO speed option, the system forces air to circulate, adjusting performance and noise levels according to the temperature of the air intake. Air is drawn in from the bottom of the chassis and released along the back, right side, and top. With intake on the front and left sides and exhaust on the back, an integrated fan controls the cooling of the power supply.

The 779382-01 chassis may function between 0 and 50 °C in ambient temperature and between 20 and 80% noncondensing in relative humidity. 
The 779382-01 chassis contains additional features that can be added for further adaptability, like a carrying handle for portability and rack-mounting capabilities. With no user-serviceable components inside, the chassis’ efficiency surpasses 70% at full load under normal input voltage and is protected by a 5 A fuse in the power supply.
