National Instruments 779760-01 PXI Chassis

The 779760-01 is a 5-slot PXI Chassis within the PXI‑1033 Model series, specifically designated for remote control applications. This chassis fits effortlessly into a variety of industrial environments and is designed to fulfill the demanding cooling and power requirements common in modern PXI applications, including automotive, automated testing, and electronics.

The 779760-01 chassis delivers flexibility in module selection because it is designed to accept 3U PXI and CompactPCI modules. Easy integration into many surroundings is made possible by its compact and robust design, which also features a universal AC input. With its built-in MXI-Express controller, the chassis creates a clear remote connection with a PC to improve performance.

The 779760-01 PXI Chassis contains an easy-to-access On/Off (Standby) power button on the front panel, and an AUTO/HIGH temperature-controlled fan speed mechanism that modulates fan speed in response to air-intake temperature to reduce audible noise. For enhanced usability,the chassis includes a carrying handle for portability and is rack-mountable, facilitating installation in various environments.

One of its unique selling points is that its backplane works with regular CompactPCI products as well as 5 V and universal PXI-compatible products. This compatibility guarantees smooth integration into current configurations and makes it easier to include components that might not implement PXI-specific functionalities, increasing the flexibility of the system.

Using an input frequency of 50/60 Hz, the chassis can function within the 100–240 VAC input voltage range. Reliability is ensured by the integrated power supply, which has an efficiency of over 70% under full load. A maximum cooling capacity of 25 W per slot is achieved through forced air circulation.

The chassis is suitable for indoor use only, with a maximum altitude rating of 2,000 m (800 mbar) at 25°C ambient temperature, conforming to Measurement Category II and Pollution Degree 2 standards.
