National Instruments PXI-2720 PXI Programmable Resistor Module

The National Instruments PXI-2720 (Part Number: 781985-20) is a 10-Channel, 8-Bit PXI Programmable Resistor Module. The NI PXI-2720 can control a series of relays programmatically to vary the resistance through each channel of an input/output connector. With this module, the user can operate 89 relays simultaneously. The PXI-2720 has comprehensive triggering capacities since it can receive and output trigger signals through PXI trigger lines 0 – 7. 

This Programmable Resistor Module is offered with PC based software, which provides a straightforward user interface that receives inputs in units of resistance or temperature and configures the resistance through each channel. The National Instruments PXI-2720 offers 0.25 Watts of maximum power per channel, 0.5% resistor accuracy, 100 ppm TCR, 1Ω steps resolution, and a range of 1 to 255 Ω (per channel). This Programmable Resistor Module can handle 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, CAT I (Channel-to-channel), and 60 VDC, 30 VACrms, CAT I (Channel-to-ground) maximum voltage whereas it offers 0.3 Amperes current (per channel).

 The NI PXI-2720 comes equipped with reed relays featuring 250 μs operating/release time and designed to offer 1 × 108 cycles typical relay life at low power load (<50mW) and 1 × 106 cycles at full power load (<250 mW). This module comes equipped with a 37-pin D-SUB connector, as well as 2 × 2 Micro-Fit connector DMM ports. By design, it is a 3U, one slot, PXI module that consumes 11 Watts (maximum) power while operating at 5 V.
