NI USB-7846R Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device

The USB-7846R (part numbers: 783201-02, 783201-01, 154803-04L, and 154803-14L) is a Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device from the National Instruments R Series. For enhanced connectivity, the USB-7846R supports a USB 2.0 bus connector and is designed to easily interface and work with the LabVIEW FPGA application tool. The bandwidth range of this device spans from 1 MHz to 500 kHz. The difference between the two main part numbers of the device is that part number 783201-01 is the standard version of the device, while part number 783201-02 is the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) version of the device. OEM simply refers to devices that are designed to be integrated into other systems and devices.

The NI USB-7846R Multifunction Reconfigurable I/O Device features a user-reconfigurable FPGA with a Kintex-7 160T FPGA controller. It boasts 48 digital channels which are bidirectional and can be used as inputs as well as outputs. Additionally, the model has two 68-pin VHDCI I/O connectors. This I/O Device performs operations with a 500 kS/s sampling rate, and it incorporatee with an 80 MHz clock frequency rate. The NI USB-7846R is also equipped with 16 analog channels. 8 of these channels are input channels, while the other 8 are output channels.

The USB-7846R features analog DC input/output coupling, is equipped with 3 DMA channels, and operates on an input voltage range of 9 - 30 V.  There are three options for mounting this R Series model: desktop, wall, or DIN rail mounting. The USB-7846R module is safegaurded against electrical damages with overvoltage protection of up to 40 V. With a maximum power requirement of 20 Watts, this device is able to safely operate in a temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C.
