Powered by a high-performance DMA controller that offloads data management from the host CPU, each serial port supports fully customizable baud rates ranging from 2 baud up to 1 Mbit/s with standard non-standard baud rate accuracy within 1%, enabling seamless communication with diverse legacy and modern serial instruments.
Front-panel connectivity is anchored by two high-density 68-pin VHDCI connectors, each routing 8 serial ports to maximize panel space and maintain compact cable management. Designed in accordance with TIA/EIA-232-F specifications, each channel supports maximum cable runs up to 2,500 pF equivalent capacitance while maintaining signal integrity. To ensure continuous operation in harsh electrical environments, all serial data lines feature integrated electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection rated to ±15 kV (Human Body Model). Power is supplied directly through the PXI Express backplane, with a typical current draw of 935 mA at +5 VDC (1.4 A maximum under full load).

Rated for Pollution Degree 2 indoor environments up to an operational altitude of 2,000 meters, the module delivers an exceptional port-density-to-slot ratio while preserving open chassis expansion slots for measurement hardware.
