National Instruments 782110-01 Timing Module

The part number 782110-01 from National Instruments is the identifying part number for the PXI-6683 Timing Module. This module is designed to provide clock signals for synchronizing and triggering the PXI systems. This module supports both IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol and a GPS. The IEEE 1588 protocol ensures extreme precision for module and supported components synchronization across the PXI series which is extremely important for large-scale industries where numerous modules are interconnected. 

The GPS feature in the 782110-01 provides time and frequency synchronization to global positioning system standards allowing this module to be used outdoors, especially for mobile applications. The 782110-01 supports IRIG-B time codes, making it extremely easy to integrate with existing synchronization infrastructure in common industrial setups. For precise timing analysis, the 782110-01 Timing Module also features a high-resolution time stamping feature allowing accurate event timestamping. 

The 782110-01 module also supports Network Time Protocol, which allows it to synchronize itself as well as other compatible modules through network systems. This network time protocol feature is great for synchronizing the module accurately and automatically without adjusting the module's settings or entering special instructions. The Network protocol relies on the Ethernet/IP protocol and features a single Ethernet port placed on the rear of the module. This module features diagnostic LEDs which allow the module to indicate its error signals as well as operation mode. The 782110-01should always be operated in an environment with an ambient temperature of less than 45 degrees Celsius to prevent it from overheating. Since this module does not feature a cooling fan, it is recommended to install it in its supported PXI chassis which can provide it with power as well as the cooling needed for it to operate smoothly.
