National Instruments MON-10496 Wireless Monitoring Gateway

The National Instruments MON-10496 (Part Numbers: 786912-01, 787983-01) is a wireless gateway intended for industrial use. It acts as a bridge between the InsightCM server and wireless endpoints, including gadgets and sensors. It enables smooth data transmission to and from the server for analysis between wireless devices and sensors. Its use of wireless technology ensures high levels of data acquisition accuracy while removing the need for substantial wiring, making installation and maintenance easier.

The MON-10496 receives data from endpoints, such as wireless devices and sensors, and delivers it to the InsightCM server for analysis. One such gadget is the wireless vibration measuring MON-10467, which wirelessly transmits data to the MON-10496. Numerous sensors, including as accelerometers, displacement sensors, tachometers, velocity sensors, and static voltage sensors, can be installed in it. In addition, the MON-10411 is a wireless vibration sensor that transmits data wirelessly to the MON-10496. It has three accelerometers and a wireless temperature sensor.

The MON-10496 uses a 1.5 dBi, 50 Ω RP-SMA antenna that meets with antenna requirements and works in the 2.4 GHz frequency range. It requires NI InsightCM™ 3.5 or later software for operation. With an operational voltage range of 85 V AC to 264 V AC, the device takes an input rating of 100 V AC to 240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. In addition, it has a long-lasting coin cell battery for the Real Time Clock (RTC), which guarantees precise timekeeping even in the event of a power loss.

This device is designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, with an operating temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C and an ingress protection rating of IP54 or Type 3. In order to guarantee safe operation in commercial and industrial settings, it also complies with electrical equipment safety standards including IEC 61010-1 and UL 61010-1.

For outdoor use, a desiccant kit (part number 787006-10) is recommended to meet humidity specifications, allowing operation in environments with up to 100% relative humidity when properly installed. The use of copper wire and appropriate wiring rated for voltage and temperature, together with safety measures for removing power during service, are the main features of field wiring recommendations.
