The National Instruments 782259-01 (USB-6363) is a high-performance X Series multifunction data acquisition device designed for demanding test, measurement, and control applications. Built on NI-STC3 timing and synchronization technology, the device features 32 single-ended (or 16 differential) analog input channels with 16-bit ADC resolution, offering guaranteed no missing codes across all input ranges. Single-channel analog sampling rates reach up to 2.00 MS/s (1.00 MS/s aggregate across multiple channels), backed by a 2,047-sample FIFO buffer and flexible input voltage ranges from ±0.1 V to ±10 V DC-coupled. Absolute accuracy is rated at 1,660 µV on the ±10 V range, while onboard timing circuitry delivers a precise 10 ns resolution with 50 ppm sample rate accuracy.

Signal generation and digital control capabilities include 4 analog output channels with 16-bit DAC resolution, ±1 LSB differential nonlinearity, and guaranteed monotonicity. The analog outputs update at rates up to 2.86 MS/s on a single channel (1.25 MS/s simultaneously across all four channels), supporting software-selectable output ranges of ±5 V, ±10 V, or custom levels defined via external APFI 0/1 reference inputs. The output stages are DC-coupled with a low 0.2 Ω output impedance and overvoltage protection up to ±30 V powered (±15 V unpowered). Additionally, the device equips engineers with 48 bidirectional digital I/O channels (5 V TTL/CMOS compatible) and an onboard frequency generator supporting 20 MHz, 10 MHz, and 100 kHz base clocks.

For complex timing, event counting, and pulse-width modulation tasks, the USB-6363 incorporates four 32-bit general-purpose counter/timers operating off internal base clocks up to 100 MHz. These counters support advanced measurements including edge counting, pulse-width, period, semi-period, and two-edge separation, as well as position decoding for X1, X2, and X4 quadrature encoders with Channel Z reloading. Encased in a durable enclosure with USB interface connectivity, the 782259-01 provides a complete, high-density I/O solution that simplifies benchtop and industrial data acquisition without requiring internal PC expansion slots.
