National Instruments 780173-01 C Series Voltage Input Module
The National Instruments 780173-01, also known as the NI-9205, is a conformally coated C Series analog input module designed for voltage measurement in industrial, laboratory, and test applications. It provides 32 single-ended or 16 differential analog input channels, giving users flexibility when configuring their measurement system. A 37-position D-sub connector provides access to the input connections.
The module offers four selectable input ranges: ±10 V, ±5 V, ±1 V, and ±0.2 V. With 16-bit resolution and an aggregate sampling rate of up to 250 kS/s, the 780173-01 can measure a wide range of voltage signals with good accuracy. Its 60 VDC channel-to-ground isolation provides additional protection against ground potential differences and wiring-related electrical issues.
The analog inputs use a multiplexed architecture, meaning the channels are measured sequentially rather than simultaneously. As a result, there is a small time difference between measurements from different channels. This should be considered when comparing signals that change rapidly or when precise timing between channels is important.
The 780173-01 can be integrated into National Instruments CompactDAQ and CompactRIO systems through the standard C Series bus.
