National Instruments PXI-4472 PXI Sound and Vibration Module

The PXI-4472 (Part number: 778279-01) Sound and Vibration Module by National Instruments comes with many beneficial features, such as a broad dynamic range, high-performing noise and distortion, and the capability to perform both synchronization and sampling at the same time. These features ensure the National Instruments PXI-4472 is ideal for applications like noise and vibration diagnostics, laboratory research, automotive test, machine condition monitoring, and various others. Other features like antialiasing filters, IEPE conditioning, and software-configurable AC/DC coupling guarantee that this module will complete precision measurements for numerous types of transducers with wide dynamic ranges.

The National Instruments PXI-4472 can be used with many types of transducers or sensors. The most used transducers are accelerometers for measuring linear acceleration or vibration and microphones for measuring sound pressure. DSA devices, such as the PXI-4472 Sound and Vibration Module, stay at their peak performance when they are not near power supplies, computer monitors, disk drives, etc. These types of devices will reduce the noise performance of the input channels. Furthermore, utilizing shielded coaxial or floating cables for every connection will additionally help decrease the noise. A minimum sampling rate of 21.6 kS/s will ensure that signal components in the bandwidth are obtained. This will be possible without aliasing or weakening by the digital filter.

There are eight analog input channels on the PXI-4472 Sound and Vibration Module, as well as 24 bit resolution, ±25 ppm frequency accuracy, ±10 Vpk input signal range, and a sample rate of 102.4 kS/s in 190.7 μS/s increments.

PXI-4472 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the module will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
