National Instruments 777518-301 Digital Input Module

Part Number 777518-301 is the identifying part number for the National Instruments FP-DI-301 Digital Input Module. It features 16 digital input channels, each of sinking type, and is compatible with 24 VDC sourcing outputs. In addition, this product connects to a FieldPoint terminal base which provides it with the operating power. The hot plug-and-play feature allows it to connect to a powered terminal base without disrupting the normal operation.

The 777518-301 features an input OFF range of < 5 VDC whereas the input ON range lies between 15 to 30 VDC. Likewise, the reverse voltage protection for the module is -30 VDC while the input impedance is 5 kΩ. During the ON state, the current sink per channel can range from a minimum of 3 mA to a maximum of 6 mA. Conversely, in the OFF state, it ranges from a minimum of -6 mA to a maximum of 1 mA. 

The 777518-301 also features two green status LEDs, indicating POWER and READY. The POWER LED lights up when the input module is connected to the terminal base and power is applied to the network module. This means that the input module is indicating its presence to the network module. When the network module reads this and sends the initial configuration, the READY status LED lights up. The input module is then set into operation.

The 777518-301 weighs 140g and draws 400 mW of power from the network module during operation.  The module is meant for indoor use at an operating temperature range of –40 to 70 °C with a relative humidity of 10 to 90%. If you intend to use it in outdoor settings, make sure it is placed inside a sealed enclosure. However, it can be stored in a wider range of –55 to 85 °C. Likewise, the maximum altitude for the operation of the module is 2000m
