National Instruments PXI-8320 Circuit Board

The PXI-8320 (Part number: 777573-01) is a member of the MXI-2 Series. This 32-bit 3U style CompactPCI compatible module Circuit Board plugs into one of the peripheral slots of either a PXI or CompactPCI frame. It connects the user’s PXI/CompactPCI-based PC specifically to the MXIbus and the other way around. The NI PXI-8320 can also work as the MXIbus System Controller and can end the MXIbus signals specifically on the PXI-8320. In addition, the user can introduce up to 16 MB of locally available DRAM on the NI PXI-8320 that the board can either impart to the MXIbus and VXI/VMEbus or use as a committed information support.

The PXI-8320 Circuit Board has a locally available EEPROM, which stores default register esteems that are stored at power-on. The EEPROM is divided into two parts: a factory configuration half and a user configuration half, so the user can adjust the client configurable half, while the industrial factory arranged half stores a backup of the default client settings. The factory configuration arrangement is a minimal configuration that can boot the PXI-8320, regardless of the changes made to the client setup.

The MXIbus requires that the first and last gadgets in the daisy-chain have an end arrangement. The NI PXI-8320 can end the MXIbus signals on the interface board by utilizing ending resistor networks in single inline packages (SIPs). The user should end the first and last gadgets in the MXIbus daisy-chain.

The locally available termination option offered by this model gives the user a chance to introduce or expel ending resistor systems from their sockets on the PXI-8320 board. If the PXI-8320 is supposed to be the first or last gadget in the MXIbus daisy-chain, the user should leave these interior resistor terminators in place.

PXI-8320 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the board will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
