National Instruments PXIe-8370 PXI Remote Control Module

The PXIe 8370 (Part Number: 779720-01) is a PXI Remote Control Module created for use in the MXI-Express System from National Instruments. This module enables the user to control the PXI and CompactPCI frameworks from their PC with a completely straightforward MXI-Express connection. It is introduced in a PXI chassis and uses a PCI Express extension or PCI to build up an interface with a PCI 8371 introduced by methods for a x1 MXI-Express copper link. The MXI-Express innovation makes possible the information streaming and communication between many PXI chassis; these multi-chassis frameworks allow daisy-chain and star configurations. The PCI specification of the device allows up to 255 segments, while the MXI-Express is limitless but dependent on the BIOS or operating system. The PXIe 8370 has two x4 PCI Express connectors, a PXI express controller slot, and a MXI-Express x 4 copper cable support.

This module is a 3.9 by 6.3 in board that can operate with +3.3V, 5V, and 12 V. The Remote Control Module is completely compatible with the PXI Express Hardware, offers a typical current of 2.5 A and a maximum current of 3 A at 3.3 V, a maximum altitude of 2000 m, 7 m maximum cable length, a MXI bandwidth of 1 GB per second, a recommended ambient temperature range between 0 to 55 °C, relative humidity range between 10% to 90%, a recommended storage temperature range of -40 °C to 71 °C, a software transparent link that requires no programming, rugged connectivity, and an operating random vibration between 5 Hz to 500 Hz. The device is founded on the PCI Express technology. The device is run using the PXI platform services software which can be found on the NI website. The system can be configured using the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) tool.

The NI PXIe 8370 was designed according to the requirements of the IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-1, UL 61010-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1 standards of safety for electrical products for estimation, control, and lab utilization. The device weighs 3.7 lbs. It has a random vibration of 5 Hz to 500 Hz, 0.3 grms.
